Holy molars

Things have been a bit temperamental at the Amys house lately as our daughter is in the process of cutting three molars. Yep, THREE of her first-year molars. At the same time. THANKS, UNIVERSE!

So for the majority of the day, while Chris is at work, Taylor and I have been riding an emotional roller coaster filled with Tylenol-highs and absolute melt-downs. She’ll be dancing and babbling one second, and then shrieking with her hands in her mouth the next. It’s heartbreaking.

And the tantrums have been the icing on the cake. Like yesterday, when I wouldn’t let her play with a plastic pencil she found in the nursery. Oh, the HORROR! She literally threw her body on the ground and flopped around like a fish. And I just stood over her, not knowing if I should laugh at her or just give her the stupid pencil back. I’m all, Really? Over a PENCIL? What’s gonna happen when I pry a Sharpie away from her? Will our house just spontaneously combust or something?

But then she grabbed at her mouth and I realized that it was only half about the pencil, and half about the agony of her teeth poking through her gums. So I scooped her up, wiped the snot off her face and gave her an ice-cold treat to numb the pain.

Oh poor girlie. Hopefully they cut fast & she will back to herself again soon! On a lighter note...I'm obsessed w/ the little skirt she has on...that thing is so darling that I just contemplated for a second about crossdressing my baby boy!

OH NO! Molars are the worst! Thank god for Freeze Pops, Fudge pops and anything else wonderfully edible and cold.

Oh my gosh! First of all, poor Taylor! But I also know it's hard to be around a tempermental teething tot all. day. long. The melted pop all over the mouth is great. Let's hope those teeth come through soon!!
