The last time we had spent time with my Blackwell relatives was when we all vacationed at the beach together this past May, which also coincided with Taylor’s Cling-all-over-your-Momma stage. So any chance of someone other than me picking her up resulted in a total baby melt-down. But now that she’s out of that phase, we were delighted with her ease and willingness to play with and be held by someone other than Chris and I. She was pretty much attached to my Aunt Jane for the majority of the afternoon, and when Jane would put her down, Taylor would stretch her arms up to her and do the Uh-uh-uh, panic squeal until she picked her back up. So either Jane was hiding cheese curls in her pockets, or my daughter had a serious bonding moment with her Great Aunt. Either way, it made my heart smile.

WNC family fun tour
Just as we drove up to the northern part of Western North Carolina last weekend to visit Chris’s cousin and her family, we took a roadtrip down south yesterday to visit some of my extended Blackwell family. My Granddaddy, Great Aunt Jane and Aunt Jane drove up from Birmingham to visit my Great Aunt Lula Rose at her mountain home in Cashiers, which is only about an hour and a half from Asheville. So Chris, Taylor and I took the day on Saturday to visit with my extended family, soak up the mountain sunshine and amaze everyone with our daughter’s infectious smile and bottomless appetite.

Wow! With Chris home on the weekends now you guys are having some serious traveling fun! Sounds like you all had a great time!
I bet your Mom is super jealous she is not down there with you for those moments! Taylor's hair has such a pretty red tint!
I'm glad you've been able to spend some time with family and that Chris can now join you!
